What is an Independent Insurance Agent?

Independent insurance agents work with multiple insurance companies, allowing us to compare insurance quotes on your behalf. Local agencies for national brands, called captive agents, can usually only provide 1 or 2 quotes.

Independent agents are local business owners and a part of the community. Large direct writers (online companies) can’t provide face-to-face service. Instead, you get an 800 number.
